Ice Maker Repair in Carmel Valley
The municipal supply here is hard, and the ice maker is the appliance that notices first. Scale collects on the fill tube and around the inlet valve, fill volume drifts down a little each month, and the cubes come out smaller and hollower until one morning there are none at all. One local wrinkle worth knowing: plenty of kitchens here feed the ice maker from an under-sink reverse-osmosis tap rather than the cold line. RO water tastes better and makes clearer ice, but it arrives at a fraction of the pressure the inlet valve was designed around, and less again while the storage tank is refilling. The result looks exactly like a failing ice maker. Undersized cubes, long fill cycles, a machine that keeps up overnight and falls behind by dinner.
